Mondays always rough. But you are in luck, my friend – I’ve found the cure to the Monday Blues! There’s no meditation involved, no pills to swallow, and no aromatherapy shampoo to use in the shower. What is it, you ask? COFFEE! Not just any coffee …. Green Mountain Coffee. Wild Mountain Blueberry coffee for me, but maybe you’d prefer Extra Bold Sumatran Reserve or Colombian Fair Trade Select. You are entitled to your own opinion, after all.

What’s so great about Green Mountain Coffee? (Other than the fact that it’s just simply delicious.) Green Mountain Coffee is Fair Trade Certified, and since October is Fair Trade Month, it’s only appropriate to celebrate and help spread the word.
So what does Fair Trade mean? I pulled some information from Green Mountain Coffee’s Facebook Page to help you better understand:

Fair Trade helps ensure that farmers get a fair price for their beans. It also improves working conditions, and supports development in farming communities with projects resulting in new schools, roads, health clinics and safer drinking water. All of the above enables farmers to invest in better quality coffee. So while Fair Trade communities enjoy a better quality of life, you enjoy a better quality cup. It’s coffee that tastes good and does good too. The benefits go beyond just dollars and cents. Fair Trade growing practices help protect the environment too. Sometimes good coffee really does make the world go ’round. (source)

I’d had Green Mountain Coffee before, but didn’t really realize what Fair Trade coffee was or the benefits of supporting it until I was selected by BzzAgent to sample some of their products and share my opinions with friends. (P.s. If you’re into trying out new products and helping spread the word, you should totally sign up. It’s free and fun!). But after learning more about Fair Trade Coffee and interacting with the Green Mountain Coffee’s Facebook and Twitter pages, I don’t know if I’ll ever purchase another brand of coffee again! What’s even cooler? They even stream live concerts of artists that support Fair Trade (you just missed Grace Potter, but be sure to check out Michael Franti’s live show this Wednesday, Oct. 24 at 10:30 p.m. EST).

Needless to say, this Saturday was a happy day when I opened my mailbox to find my Green Mountain Coffee BzzKit containing lots of goodies. In my BzzKit for this campaign, I received three boxes of four K-Cup samples and several Green Mountain Coffee coupons. (Which is how I discovered the delicious Blueberry!)

And instead of being stingy and keeping them all for myself, I’ve decided to give away a sample pack and coupons to one lucky reader, and three others will receive a two $1 off coupons for their next Green Mountain Coffee K-Cup or 12 oz. bag purchase! The sample pack includes one Extra Bold Sumatran Reserve, one Colombian Fair Trade Select, one Vermont Country Blend and one Wild Mountain Blueberry in K-cups for Keurig.

To enter, leave me a comment telling me which flavor you’re most excited to try, and/or why Fair Trade Certified coffee rocks your socks! I will pick the winners next Monday, October 29. Good luck, and cheers to Good Coffee and Great Vibes!

I would love to try the blueberry! I only really like coffee when it’s flavored (I’m more of a tea girl) but I’ve never had blueberry!
