Indulging with BurgerFi

Let’s be real, I’m not a food blogger. But … I blog and I like food, so every now and then I like to sneak in something unexpected to make your mouth water. Today is one of those days. BurgerFi invited me to join for lunch on them to try their new Beyond Burger, a plant-based option. I’m not a huge beef eater, so the idea of a plant-based burger intrigued me. I invited my friend Meghan to tag along for a nice, healthy lunch, but what we walked into was anything but. And it was worth every single calorie!

I’d been to BurgerFi a handful of times previously and always had a nice experience. The restaurant is inviting the customer service is always great, and the food has always been delicious. I’m a creature of habit and order the same thing every time, so being forced (you know what I mean) to try new items was welcomed. We tried the BurgerFi Cheeseburger, The CEO (which has homemade candied bacon-tomato jam and truffle aioli), the Beyond Burger (a 100% plant-based burger), and the VegeFi Burger (made from crispy quinoa and veggies). I was so surprised by how much I loved everything, including the two veggie options. I never would have known the Beyond Burger wasn’t real beef, and the VegeFi burger was crispy, cheesy goodness that may have actually been my favorite.

The Urban Style Fries (covered in truffle aioli and Parmesan cheese) are out of this world, and if you’re an onion ring fan you will love theirs. We also tried the Cookies n Cream milkshake (OMG!) and a Red Velvet Concrete (my new weakness). They make their own custard, which it my favorite kind of ice cream, and it’s soooo good. I’m in trouble now. In addition to good food and tasty treats, we also learned a few fun facts: they serve mainly local beers on tap, each of their chairs are made from recycled Coke cans, the light fixture above the community table is made from meat hooks, all of their produce is locally sourced and delivered fresh daily (they don’t have a freezer), and they have daily specials at the St. Johns Town Center location (including kids eat free on Mondays, BOGO wine on Wednesdays, and live music on Thursdays).

Definitely stop by next time you’re craving some good eats or a cold treat. I’m already craving another Concrete!

Thank you for having me, BurgerFi, and for all the complimentary food!
