Instacart Grocery Delivery Service

Do you ever wish that someone could just show up at your front door with groceries to spare you from having to go to the store? :: Raises hand:: Or bring you diapers when you realize you’re down to the last one? ::Raises both hands:: Or deliver booze on a Saturday morning when you realize you desperately need mimosas to make cleaning the house a bit more exciting? ::Raises both hands and a foot:: Well guess what? BOTH ARE POSSIBLE! I kid you not … you can have almost any food, drink or household item delivered right to your door, and it’s been a serious game-changer for us. I can’t even begin to tell you how nice it’s been to be able to come home after a day at the office to spend time with my girl and make dinner without having to spend the extra hour running to the store. It’s a Godsend for the busy mom, the dad who hates shopping, the college student who has no clue where anything in the store is, the busy professional who ends up working late every evening … basically for everyone. Would even be an awesome gift idea for newlyweds or new parents! I’m breaking it all down for you here.

Instacart is a grocery delivery service that saves you a trip to the store and delivers your items to your doorstep in as little as an hour. You do your shopping straight from your phone or computer, Instacart instantly connects you with one of their personal shoppers, and voila! Your groceries show up at your selected time and all you have to do is put them away. All without having to pull out your wallet or your car keys. (However, if you’d prefer to pick up your pre-shopped groceries at the store, you can do that too!)

It’s super easy and actually a lot of fun. When you’re ready to shop, open the Instacart app or go to their website. You’ll need to create an account for your first time, and then you’ll just login after that. Once you’ve selected your preferred local store(s), select the items you want and add them to your cart. You have the option to leave notes for items if you have special requests (I like to request bright yellow bananas and medium-ripe avocados). It will even automatically show you any coupons or special offers available for that particular product. Once you’ve completed your shopping you will select a delivery time. You can select immediate delivery and they’ll be delivered within the hour (if available), or schedule for a later time that day or even later in the week. I love scheduling delivery for when I’m just getting home from work! After checking out you will receive a notification on the app when your shopper has started shopping, and it will alert you if anything is unavailable or if they have questions. The shoppers are trained to shop for the best produce and check expiration dates, to ensure you get the best product available. You also have the opportunity to chat with your shopper through the app if you have questions or change your mind about something. Once shopping is complete, you will receive a notice that they are on the way. I always request that they message me when they are on the way and don’t ring the doorbell in case Daisy is sleeping, and they always remember to do it! They drive with your groceries in temperature-controlled storage, so everything is still nice and warm/cold/frozen when it arrives. They hand over your groceries and you’re all set! Payment is handled through your account, and you have the opportunity to rate and tip your shopper through the app once delivery is complete. SO EASY!

Instacart delivers from tons of stores, but it all depends on your delivery location. To find stores which will service your delivery area, you can type in your zip code in the store locator section. For reference, some of the stores in my delivery area include Publix, Total Wine, BJs, PetCo, Costco, and CVS.

1. The main reason: It saves me SO much time. In my opinion time is money, and I would much rather pay someone a small fee to run my errands for me if it means more time to myself and my family. Time is already so precious when we spend 40+ hours a week at work, so I’ll take all the extra free time I can get.
2. I actually think I end up spending less simply because I don’t impulse shop. It’s harder to find random items to throw in my cart when I’m shopping online versus when I’m shopping in store on an empty stomach and want all the things.
3. I have everything I need for the evening waiting for me when I get home from work. I don’t have to think about it, don’t have to load the baby into the car, nadda.
4. Forget an ingredient for dinner? Instacart’s got ya covered! No need to run to the store for a few forgotten items. Hallelujah!
5. I can’t tell you how many times I forget to go grocery shopping on a Sunday or we get home late from being out of town and don’t have the chance. Instacart is a LIFE SAVER those next Mondays. I love that I can quick order everything Daisy and my nanny will need for the week and have it delivered to them at the house while I’m at work.
See how happy it makes Daisy?!

Instacart works with retailers to price items the same as regular in-store prices. Sometimes at specific retailers prices are slightly higher than what you would pay in-store, but they alert of you that in advance so you are aware. Trust me – the convenience is 100% worth the extra change! You get the best bang for your buck by becoming an Instacart Express Member, which allows for unlimited free delivery on orders $35+ and shopping at multiple stores in one order. The monthly membership is $14.99/month and the annual membership is $149/year.

Want to give it a go? I have a special discount for you! Just click here to start and use promo code BLONDELIFE to save $10 on your first order. Before hitting “Place Order,” just click “Add Promo Code” (which shows up under the order total) and type in BLONDELIFE for the discount!
