Life Hacks: Brought to You by Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap

Ever wish there was a real life “easy” button? I sure do. There are times where life would could be just a tiny bit easier if we could hack it, or find little ways to make things simpler, quicker or less stressful. Well, friends, this post and I come to you with good news! Thanks to Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap, we can! (I’m sure you’re wondering why the heck am I blogging about plastic wrap … but stick with me.)

I love Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap for several reasons, but mainly because it is SO easy to use. The built-in slide cutter ensures a clean cut every time, and the starter edge™ makes it easy to find the start of the roll (about time someone made that happen!).  I also love how each roll is automatically held in place to keep it from jumping out of the package during dispensing. Goodbyeeeeeee getting it stuck and torn and ending up in a giant messy ball which ends up in the trash because it’s a PITA to work with. You know what I’m talking about, don’t try to deny it. Who knew something that seems so basic could be so exciting? It’s the little things, right?

Though it may be what you typically use it for, this holy grail product isn’t only for food storage the kitchen. I use it there all the time, but there are so many other uses for plastic wrap that will bring you joy. So I’ve decided to share a few life hacks using Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap with you for things you’ll thank me for later. If you want to see a few of them in action check out the video below!

Hack #1:
Place a piece of Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap under the caps of liquid travel bottles (shampoo, conditioner, etc.) to prevent leaks and spills while traveling. I travel a ton and this has been a serious game-changer. Have you ever had a bottle of shampoo explode in your suitcase? It’s not fun … take my word for it.

Hack #2:
Wrap Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap around an open bag of coffee to maintain freshness. And to keep the beans from spilling!

Hack #3:
Wrap glasses in Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap when traveling to reduce likelihood of breaking. I’m a weirdo and travel with glass probably more often than the average bear, but this is super helpful when moving as well. I like to weave the glasses and then do one final wrap all around. You bring the bubbly, I’ll bring the flutes. Deal? #HaveChampagneWillTravel

Hack #4:
Raise your hand if you’re a flower junky? 🙋 I buy them for myself all the time, but I also enjoy giving fresh flowers to friends and family. If you won’t be getting the bouquet into water immediately, keep the blooms fresh by wetting a paper towel, wrapping around the bottom of the stems and wrapping completely in Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap.

Hack #5:
Make moving even easier by wrapping completely in Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap to keep contents securely in place. For example, wrap your cutlery holder in plastic wrap and you won’t have to pack up individual utensils. Moving plastic storage chests? Wrap the container completely in plastic wrap to keep everything in its place and prevent the storage drawers from opening while moving.

Have #6:
Easily remove the sticker adhesive from reusable glass jars by wetting the sticker with soap and water, covering in Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap and letting sit for a few minutes. Remove the plastic wrap and easily wipe clean.

Hack #7:
I don’t know about you, but I am super picky about my bananas and will only eat them when they’re bright yellow. If they have any brown spots they get moved to the freezer for smoothies. Slow down the ripening process for bananas by wrapping the stem in pReynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap, which acts like a greenhouse. With bananas, plastic wrap helps contain ethylene gas, which bananas produce naturally while they ripen. Without the plastic wrap, the ethylene gas spreads to other parts of the fruit, helping it ripen faster. Pretty freaking awesome, huh?

Hack #8:
No lid for your favorite cup? Make your own! Just seal a piece of Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap over your glass and seal tight. You can even stick a straw in it, if you’d like!

Hack #9:
You can remove blackheads using your favorite facial lotion and Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap! Find the instructions here.

Hack #10:
Have you ever had a makeup palette break or come open when traveling? It aint pretty. Prevent that by wrapping the palette in Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap to keep it closed and tightly secured!

Bonus:
When you’re missing a piece to your tripod and need your camera to stay in a certain position … Reynolds KITCHENS® Quick Cut™ Plastic Wrap to the rescue. See, told you you can use it for everything!
