If you’re one of the sinful few who have not seen this most amazing classic flick (Yes, these people do exist, and my friend Ashley is unfortunate proof. After you enter this contest, head over to her blog and give her hell.), here’s a quick synopsis for you:

Dirty Dancing is an unprecedented live experience, exploding with heart-pounding music, passionate romance, and sensational dancing. Seen by millions across the globe, this timeless love story features the hit songs “Hungry Eyes,” “Hey Baby,” “Do You Love Me?” and the heart-stopping “(I’ve Had) The Time Of My Life.”

It’s the summer of 1963, and 17-year-old Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman is on vacation in New York’s Catskill Mountains with her older sister and parents. Mesmerized by the racy dance moves and pounding rhythms she discovers in the resort’s staff quarters, Baby can’t wait to be part of the scene, especially when she catches sight of Johnny Castle, the resort’s sexy dance instructor. Passions ignite and Baby’s life changes forever when she is thrown in to the deep end as Johnny’s leading lady, both on-stage and off.

I am still so devastated from the loss of Patrick Swayze, so this will be the perfect way to remember him and pretend he is still with us. I mean, how much do these characters look like those from the movie?! It’s uncanny.

  1. It is so hard to pick ONE line, song or scene.
However, as I’ve said elsewhere, the one-two punch of Otis Redding (These arms of mine) and Solomon Burke (Cry to me) is the perfect music for one of the best love scenes ever!

  2. This is such a great giveaway! I love musicals! I love the movie! It’s so hard to choose! I think my favorite scene is where he lifts her up!

    1. Hi Beth,

So glad you entered – you’re my winner! Please email me at busybmail @ gmail.com to claim and I will give you instructions on how to pick up your tickets. Congratulations!
