I am SO excited to be sharing these with you! A few weeks ago, during the 31st week of my pregnancy to be exact, Jimmy and I traveled to Savannah for a baby-filled weekend: our maternity photos and baby shower. Picking our photographer for these pictures was a no-brainier. Katelyn of Finnegan Photography was our wedding photographer and captured some of the most amazing pictures ever, so I knew she would do a fantastic job with this next milestone in our relationship as well. I went to high school and cheered with Katelyn, so I think being comfortable around her (plus the girl really knows what she’s doing) made it so easy to relax and be ourselves, which is super important during photo shoots like this. She has always been so much fun to work with, and our maternity photo shoot was no exception. I had a vision of what I wanted – the dress, the flower crown, the arching moss-covered oak trees, the lighting, the photography style – and everything came together so much better than I could have ever imagined. I think they show our love for our baby girl so perfectly, and I know we will cherish these for life.
I searched everywhere for a flowy, off-the-shoulder maternity dress and couldn’t find one that I loved. When I came across this one, I knew I had to splurge and get it (thank you for the blogger discount, STA!). My mom and I made the flower crown (well, mainly my mom because I was too busy rushing to do my hair and makeup), which I think turned out beautiful. A bouquet of daisies was the only prop we needed. We also packed a simple wardrobe change so we could get Katelyn to snap a few holiday photos for us to use on our Christmas card (and I absolutely adore those as well!). When I woke up and saw the email notifying me that my photos were ready, I nearly peed my pants I was so excited! And now I am excited to share them here with you. I love, love, LOVE how they turned out, and can’t wait to hang a few in our little Daisy’s nursery. Five more weeks until her expected arrival!
