Mother’s Day Gift Guide: Unique Ideas + Deals

Happy humpday, y’all! How is it already May? I seriously have no idea where the time goes. BUT it is now May and you know what that means … MOTHER’S DAY! We should all be celebrating this holiday in full force. We wouldn’t be here without our mamas, after all! I’ll be celebrating double for my second Mother’s Day as a mom and having the best mom ever :).

I know how tough it can be finding the perfect gift for Mom, so I thought I’d share a few of my top picks to help spark some ideas for you. Guys, these are great ideas for your baby mama, too! I love supporting small businesses, so several of these are products from shops owned by boss babes, or ideas for activities or experiences Mom might love. I also did my best to include average or staring prices, as well as any discounts or offers I’m currently aware of. Hope it helps!

READER SECRET: Be sure you’re following me on Instagram … I’ve teamed up with over a dozen local shops and businesses to give away hundreds of dollars in prizes for a Mother’s Day Giveaway series! The first one launched yesterday and they’ll run all this week and next. CLICK HERE TO FOLLOW ME!

Without further ado, here are my picks for fun gifts ideas that she’ll surly love.

Jackson Rose Candles ($18+)
Candles may seem cliché, but they’re as popular as they are for a reason! Skip the name brand candles and gift your mom with a candle made with extra TLC, like one of these phenomenal Jackson Rose candles. The owner is a Georgia native currently living in Chicago, which really resonates with me since I am from GA and my hubby is from Chicago (and it’s how I found out about her)! She found herself missing the smells of the south, so she found a way to connect her southern roots through candle making, blending traditional and modern Southern design elements with her unique scent combinations. I absolutely LOVE everything about her products and company! I have the Sweet Tea and the Magnolia candles from the Southern Roots collection, and the Give Me Some Sugar and Hey Darlin’ from the Talk Southern To Me collection, and they all smell incredible. PLUS they contribute 7% of profits to support local organizations doing good to improve education, our environment, and making the world a better place! DEAL ALERT: Get a bonus surprise with each order when you use code SURPRISEME at checkout. It could be a tea light, a travel candle or even a full-size … each order will have a different surprise! Order by this weekend to ensure on-time delivery. CLICK HERE TO SHOP.

Ellie’s Sparkles ($12+)
Accessories from Ellie’s Sparkles are the perfect addition to any woman’s accessory collection, and are always a much-appreciated gift. I talk about these jewels all the time, but I just love them so much! Plus the owner just so happens to be one of my best friends, so of course I’ve gotta support :). All of her jewelry is handmade and most is made-to-order, so you can request a customization if you’d like. The wire-wrapped bangles are perfect for stacking with other jewelry or watches, and the tassel necklaces are the BEST statement pieces! I’d suggest getting stones in the color of her kids’ birthstones, or going with something from the Monogram Shop (this is a fav!) engraved with names or birth dates of her kids and/or grand kids. These fruit-inspired bangles are super fun, too! DEAL ALERT: Use code “MAMA” for 25% off your purchase through 5/4/18, and use code “BLAKELEY20” for 20% off any time!  CLICK HERE TO SHOP. {Follow me on Instagram to win a pair of earrings this week!}

Alley and Rae ($30+)
If you want to make her laugh, smile, or go “Yep, that’s about right,” get her a shirt from Alley and Rae’s Motherhood collection. They are have many great graphic tees that all moms will appreciate! They also have great shirts for fitness lovers and smart asses, but it’s Mother’s Day. Gotta go with something like the “Excuse me while I MOMentarily lose my mind,” “Coffee, because mommin’ is hard,” “Mastering motherhood with coffee and wine,” or “Tired AF.” And the material is SO comfy! CLICK HERE TO SHOP.

Grocery Delivery Service ($35+)
Nothing says “I love you more” like making life easier for mama. She already has enough on her hands what with, you know, raising kids and running a family and such. Take one thing plate and gift her with a grocery delivery subscription like Instacart or Shipt . You can read my post on Instacart and how it works here, but basically you can order all of your groceries, booze and household items straight from the app or a computer and have it delivered to your front door in as quick as an hour. Participating stores vary based on your location, but I can get Publix, Costco, Target and Total Wine delivered to me. YASSSS!!! Check to see which company services her area. CLICK HERE FOR INSTACART and HERE FOR SHIPT.

Maid Service ($100+)
Speaking of making her life easier, think about how much more she’d love you if you told her someone else was coming to clean her house for her! No, seriously. I truly think she would love you more. I know I would love my husband more if he gave me a house cleaning gift card (hint hint, Jimmy). Cleaning services vary based on where you live, but I’m pretty sure Molly Maid and Merry Maids are nationwide!

Fitness Membership ($60+)
Tread lightly on this one. You don’t want her to think you’re trying to tell her something (she’s beautiful as is, after all!). But if she’s been talking about wanting to join a gym or try out something like barre or yoga, find a gym or studio near her house and get her a gift card or a membership package. This is likely something she’s wanting to do, but has a hard time spending the money on for herself. For some reason moms tend to put their needs and wants behind everyone else to make sure every else can be happy and get what they want. I’m not sure why. Oh wait, yes I do. Because moms are rockstars. If you live in the Jacksonville area, I would suggest treating her to an unlimited barre/yoga/pilates membership at Everbalance. It’s my favorite studio in town (you can read more about it here!), and they’re offering 40% off all memberships with code “TEACHERSUMMER40,” making it only $71.40! CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE AN EVERBALANCE MEMBERSHIP.

LipSense ($25+)
If you’ve ever seen her wear lipstick, you can’t go wrong with this gift. Every woman loves a good tube of lipstick, especially one that stays on and lasts a long time. They have dozens of colors to choose from, and it’s beautifully packaged and makes for a wonderful gift. I guarantee she will be so excited when she opens it and tries it for the first time! LipSense can only be purchased through an independent distributor, so make sure you order it ASAP to ensure it arrives in time. If you don’t already have a distributor, you can contact Jessica of Bold City Beauty and she will hook you up! She’s a mom of three and I’m sure would be more than grateful for the support, and she’ll totally be able to make suggestions and answer any questions for you. Be sure to tell her I sent you! CLICK HERE TO ORDER FROM JESSICA.

Family Photo Session ($75+)
Think about it … when’s the last time you had family photos taken with your mama or baby mama? I mean real pictures taken by a professional photographer. If you answered a year or more, contact a local photographer and book a family portrait session right now. Or get a gift card and let her book it on a date that works for her … probably a better idea for most. We did a family photo session last Mother’s Day with my mom and step dad, my hubby’s parents and sister, my sister and her fam, and my hubby, baby and I and it was the best gift ever. We all had so much fun and the pictures are absolutely priceless. If you’re not a picture person this probably something you’d really ever consider, but I PROMISE you will all be forever grateful for it.
* Some of my favorite photographers in the Jacksonville-area are: Cailin Smith Photography, Ashley Graham Photography, Peacock Photography, Kelly Martucci Photography, and Kaitlin Jane Photography.
* Some of my favorite photographers in the Savannah-area are: Callie Beale Photography, Finnegan Photography, Erin Hixson, and Jessica Drew Photography.

Day at the Spa ($75+)
There’s no going wrong with a day of pampering. Schedule her an appointment or treat her to a gift card to a local spa. She’s sure to be relaxed and refreshed after an hour-long massage or a facial. And a few hours of mommy time! Be sure to check around … several spas, especially ones inside resorts, will let you have access to the pool and facilities all day if you book a service with them. Check out One Ocean Resort and Spa or Ponte Vedra Inn and Club if you’re in the Jax area!

Beauty Services ($50+)
Every woman wants to feel beautiful. If you don’t want to go the massage/spa route but still want to pamper her, a salon service is always a great idea! A mani/pedi from her favorite nail salon, lash extensions or a lash lift and tint are excellent gift ideas, or a gift card to her favorite hair salon so she can refresh her ‘do. Go the extra mile by scheduling the appointment for her so she won’t keep putting it off! Jacksonville peeps, I highlight recommend LASH Jax for facials or any lash/brow serivces, and Tarah at Nelson Crew Salon for a fabulous hair stylist! DEAL ALERT: LASH has a ton of awesome Mother’s Day specials right now! CLICK HERE to check them out. You can get 15% off any service at LASH when you book using code BLONDE15!

One Hope Wine ($19+)
If she’s a wine or champagne drinker, a bottle of One Hope is a must! Order her a bottle (or three!) of the prettiest wine around that also does good things for the community. A portion from each bottle sold goes toward supporting charitable causes, like providing people with global healthcare, helping shelter animals find forever homes, providing meals and vaccines to children and more. She’ll be so proud of you for supporting a good cause while stocking her wine rack at the same time.  This rosé is a safe choice, and this glitter champagne would make for the person Mother’s Day brunch centerpiece. You can also choose from a selection of pre-made gift baskets here. CLICK HERE TO SHOP.

Workshops and Classes ($30+)
If she’s a hands-on or crafty kind of lady, send her and a friend, daughter or even the two of you on a booze-and-do class! You’ll need to do a little research based on where she lives, but you’re sure to find a “wine and canvas” art studio or a flower arranging workshop nearby. Jacksonville friends, I recommend Creative Grain Studio to paint your own wooden home decor, Alice’s Table to create your own flower arrangement, Wine and Canvas to paint your own masterpiece, and Alleycakes Bakery to learn the art of cake decorating! Did I mention you can bring your own booze to all of these to make for an even better time? A bottle of One Hope and a workshop class would make the perfect combo!

Kendra Scott ($30+)
If you’re looking for beautiful jewelry without breaking the bank, Kendra Scott is your answer! They have beautiful, classic and on-trend jewelry for every woman’s style. If she’s on the more fashion-forward side, I would suggest something from the new Summer collection like this pendant necklace, these fabulous statement tassel earrings (I’m dying for a pair of these!), or this fun beaded bracelet set. If she’s more simple, you can’t go wrong with this mother of pearl necklace or the classic drop earrings. These necklace and earring gift sets are also a fabulous idea! I have one and love it! DEAL ALERT: If you spend $100 today (May 2), you get a free Delaney necklace, and you always get 50% off any product during your birthday month! CLICK HERE TO SHOP.

Fragrance ($60+)
Another “boring” gift, but it’s not really. Perfume is something that all of us women love, but it’s hard to splurge on because of the price point. It’s a gift that will get used, lasts a long time, and looks beautiful. You can’t go wrong! A few of my personal favorites are Marc Jacobs Daisy, J’adore by Dior, Tory Burch, and Coach if you’re looking for suggestions.

There you have it! These are some of my top picks for Mother’s Day gifts. Did you find this helpful? Let me know if you end up going with something from this list, or if you have any questions!

Happy Mother’s Day to all my fellow rockstar mamas out there! I hope you have the best day ever.
